Gregory M. Smith is a business litigator with a focus in lawsuits involving attorneys – fee disputes and legal malpractice actions.
 
He represents individuals and companies in legal malpractice and breach of fiduciary duty actions against their prior lawyers, accountants, and other professional advisors.
 
Greg is also experienced representing business clients in all aspects of civil litigation in Federal and California courts. He represents individuals, Fortune 100 companies, and start-ups in diverse industries including sports, hospitality, trucking, fishing, real estate, construction, medicine, and manufacturing. These cases involve issues as diverse as corporate governance, misuse of trade secrets, and breaches of contract.
 
Prior to joining The Maloney Firm, Greg spent several years representing trucking companies and railroads in catastrophic injury and wrongful death cases.
 
Greg’s peers have voted him to the Super Lawyers’ Rising Stars list every year since 2016.
 
Since 2017, Greg has served on the Board of Directors of the Downtown Los Angeles Bar Association. He is a member of Provisors, a nationwide network of trusted advisors in a variety of professions. He is also a member of the Hon. Benjamin Aranda, III American Inn Of Court, a legal educational society.
 
Greg graduated from the University of San Diego School of Law. While in law school, he won numerous oral advocacy awards and was a member of the school’s national mock trial team.
 
He received his Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of California, Berkeley.
 
Greg lives in the South Bay and enjoys traveling and running. He has extensive collections of both vintage watches and retro Air Jordans.
